Design considerations for integrated circuit RF/MMIC power amplifiers

Integrated circuit RF/MMIC power amplifiers are getting more and more popular. The PAs can be standalone or part of a larger device. Multiple technologies exist for the implementation of the circuits from CMOS to III-V. For the designer of these circuits different technologies present different challenges. In a brief paper by Signal Processing Group Inc., technical team, some of these issues are explored in a cookbook fashion.
